An underground online service called OnlyFake, which sells IDs it claims are generated by artificial intelligence and “neural networks,” quickly made headlines after 404 Media published an investigation and test in early February. The article said that OnlyFake claimed to be able to generate hundreds of files from Excel spreadsheets at once, up to 20,000 per day. Subsequently, media reports said that OnlyFake files have been used to bypass KYC and AML checks on well-known cryptocurrency and financial platforms, raising concerns.
